Access for Disabled People
Access is a pressure group which aims to improve access to buildings and facilities for disabled people. As a result of the groups activities many shops and banks are Access friendly and there are tactile crossings and enhanced pavement walks.

Disabled toilets
Many of the District's public toilets have facilities operated by the National Radar Key System. To purchase Radar keys or to obtain a full listing of disabled toilet locations contact one of the local Tourist Information Centres (see information section)

Car Parks
Disabled persons' vehicles may be parked free of charge on all Council car parks for up to three hours in any one day, providing orange or blue badges are displayed and the clock is correctly set. On street parking
Disabled badge holders are entitle to unlimited parking in designated on street parking areas, marked with a white broken line.

Shopmobility
This scheme helps people with restricted mobility. It provides scooters, power wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs to enable people to access local amenities. Shopmobility operates a holiday hire scheme for all equipment on a daily, weekend and weekly basis. Tel: (01255) 435566.

Provision for disabled people in theatres
Both the Princes and West Cliff Theatres have spaces suitable for wheelchair use. We would however recommend that you discuss any specific needs at the time of booking your tickets.
